Anything is Possible

My newsletters in the following months will be slightly different. I will include some interesting short stories and will still write about the planets in transit.

Years ago, back in the 90s, when I imported jewelry and clothing from Thailand and India, the organizers of the Hamilton summer festival I participated in called me with a big ask: "When you go to India, is it possible that you could import a bicycle rickshaw for us? We'd love to use this as our theme for our July festival!"

I don't like disappointing people, so I took up the challenge. However, authorities in Canada and India advised me that this would be next to impossible. The red tape would be overwhelming, and I would be met with many obstacles.

They were right, and they were wrong. The paperwork was incredibly long and tedious. When it was stipulated that the bicycle rickshaw had to be taken apart bolt by bolt to show that drugs were not being smuggled, it seemed impossible to get this Rickshaw to Canada.

Exasperated, I found a reliable Indian man with whom I had worked many times before when importing my goods. I sometimes exchanged my Canadian dollars into rupees at the black market in Delhi (which offered better exchange rates than banks).ย Mister Bali knew the ins and outs.

I gave Bali a retainer of five hundred dollars. That was my budget. One hundred US dollars was for him, and one hundred and fifty dollars was for the Rickshaw.

The rest was for Baksheesh (bribes) to get the ball rolling quicker. Bali had mechanics come in to take the bike apart, and we paid for the wooden container required to ship the Rickshaw.

Guess what? It worked!

I got the Rickshaw into the Hamilton festival just in time.

However, another big job was putting the bike together!

This story always reminds me that I can get through any obstacle that my mind feels may not be so easy to overcome.

Sometimes, when the road is blocked, we don't have to go straight ahead; we can take a different path!

This morning's Solar eclipse concludes the two-week period of eclipses that occur every six months.

Eclipses often have an aftermath effect that affects our emotional energy field. We may feel less hope at this time, have more procrastination, and not see the cup half full but only half empty. Even if the feelings are subtle, they are there.

With Mercury in the action as well because of its conjunction (called combustion) with the Sun, we have seen the significations of Mercury go haywire.

Mercury signifies our nervous system, shoulders, neck, respiratory area, and all forms of communication. There is much more, but you get the idea.

This aspect has made people somewhat fragile and reactive, to say the least!

After the impact of the solar eclipse lifts and Mercury moves away from the Sun (it is slowly doing so now), we will start to feel much better. The cup will be seen as half full! You may feel a new lease on life. ย

We just need to figure out how put that Rickshaw back together!

Change can be a good thingโ€”so we can hope.

Many Blessings,

John
